About the Role

We are looking for a Finance Manager, South Africa who brings more than traditional financial management experience.

This is a hands-on finance business partnering role supporting YDE’s growing South African renewable energy portfolio across both project financing and operating assets. You will work closely with Corporate Finance, Asset Management, Treasury, Group Finance and local leadership to support the practical execution of project finance requirements, including conditions precedent, drawdowns, flow of funds, lender documentation, project accounts and financing-related payments.

As projects move into operation, you will also support the financial management of the asset portfolio, including customer billing and collections, lender and covenant reporting, DSCR, asset performance analysis and financial oversight of operating projects.

Alongside this, you will retain responsibility for the core Finance Manager remit across South Africa, including financial and management reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, tax, treasury, cash flow and financial controls.

The role does not lead financing strategy or structure transactions. Instead, it acts as the key local finance partner ensuring that financing, lender and asset-related financial requirements are executed accurately, efficiently and in line with the relevant agreements.

What You’ll Deliver & Own

• Support Corporate Finance and relevant stakeholders with the financial administration and execution of project-financed renewable energy projects.

• Prepare and coordinate drawdowns, utilisation requests, conditions precedent, flow-of-funds documentation, lender submissions and supporting schedules.

• Work directly with lenders, facility agents, advisers and internal teams on day-to-day financing administration and project account requirements.

• Reconcile funding requests against project budgets, financial models, invoices and supporting documentation.

• Support the financial oversight of operating renewable energy assets, including billing, receivables, covenant monitoring, DSCR, lender reporting and asset financial performance.

• Work with Asset Management and O&M to ensure operational events and asset performance are appropriately reflected in forecasts and financial reporting.

• Lead financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash flow, tax compliance and financial controls for YDE’s South African entities.

• Provide clear financial insight to local leadership and Group teams, identifying key risks, variances and actions.

• Maintain strong financial processes, documentation, controls and audit readiness across the South African business.

What You Must Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

• Around 8+ years of relevant finance experience, with strong hands-on financial management capability.

• Experience within renewable energy, power, infrastructure or another project-financed asset environment.

• Practical exposure to project finance execution or administration, including areas such as drawdowns, utilisation requests, conditions precedent, flow of funds, lender liaison or financing documentation.

• Exposure to the financial management of operating assets, including areas such as billing, receivables, covenant monitoring, lender reporting, DSCR or asset performance.

• Strong experience across financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash flow and controls.

• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and South African statutory, tax and financial reporting requirements.

• Strong Excel and financial analysis capability, with excellent accuracy and document discipline.

• Confidence working across lenders, advisers, Finance, Corporate Finance, Asset Management, Treasury and operational teams.

Strong Advantage

• Experience within a South African renewable energy IPP, developer or asset owner.

• CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA or another relevant professional finance qualification.

• Experience with project finance agreements, lender reporting and project account structures.

• Exposure to interest-rate hedging or foreign exchange settlement.

• Experience working across multiple SPVs or project companies.

• Strong ERP and financial systems capability.
